USE, CLEANING AND STERILIZATION INSTRUCTIONS

NORMAL USE: Units are tested for and are suitable for use in oxygen atmosphere. They are also suitable due to air activation for use by patients when ANY CONTACT WITH ELECTRICITY can present danger to the patient.

CLEANING: The outside of vinyl tubing and plug can be disinfected with most sterilization products or mild detergents.

DISINFECTING: For disinfecting, one suggestion is Citriguard II made byHealthlink, Inc. (www.healthlinkinc.net). Citriguard II is a tuberculocidal; Virocide; Disinfectant& Fungicide (against pathogenic Fungi) with proven kill times against bloodborne pathogens includes Tuberculosis, HIV, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV) E. Coli, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Streptococcus and MRSA. Citriguard II can be used to disinfect but it does not completely "sterilize".

STERILIZATION: Do not steam sterilize unit - high heat will destroy vinyl parts. Maximum temperature is 130 fahrenheit. For sterilization you will need to use a Glutaraldehyde based, cold-sterilization solution. The following link from NIOSH (National Institute Occupational Safety & Health) http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/glutaraldehyde/states: "trade names for Glutaraldehyde-conatining formulations include Cidex, Sonacide, Sporicidin, Hospex, Omnicide, Metricide, Rapicide and Wavicide. These products have instructions and the time requirements on how to achieve sterilization through cold sterilization solutions.

HOW TO CLEAN, DISINFECT AND STERILIZE: Always hold, maintain, and keep the wall switch plug higher than the cleansing solution when you immerse the component into your disinfecting or sterilization solution. Caution: When disinfecting or sterilizing, do not allow any fluids to reach the plug that is inserted into the wall jack or possible malfunction or switch plug may result. ***Caution*** Due to increased concerns regarding bloodborne pathogen contamination, it is highly advised to check with your AAMI or EPA file on current cleaners available. We strongly suggest a cleaner disinfectant that contains bleach. There are several different solutions available.

Warning For Healthcare personnel: BreathCall unit is NOT intended for multiple patient use due to blood-borne pathogen concerns and cross contamination.

NOTE
DO NOT KINK, CRIMP or Bend Tubing
***Non Electrical***
Needs Air Flow To Activate

Note: CONTACT PLUG HAS HIGH PRECISION SILVER BALL IN MATCHED SILVER SLEEVE, AND ANY CORROSIVE OR DIRTY LIQUIDS ADMITTED INSIDE WILL CAUSE BALL TO STICK AND SWITCH TO FAIL TO OPERATE.

Caution: Do not steam sterilize unit - high heat will destroy vinyl parts. Maximum temperature is 130 fahrenheit. Do not use sterilizing solutions containing CARBOLIC ACID or PHENOL - These agents after repeated use will harden vinyl parts. Careful sterilization with ethylene oxide may be used if excessive heat does not result in melting vinyl parts.

Electrical: Unit should be used with maximum rated current of 1/3 amp at 24 volts AC or DC. Higher voltage or current may render the nursecall inoperative.

To install in the end of flexible arm wet end of straw with alcohol and turn slightly while inserting. Straw can be pulled out for replacement.Units are tested for and suitable for use in oxygen atmosphere. They are also suitable, due to air activation, for use by patients whenANY CONTACT WITH ELECTICITYcan present a danger to the patient.

CLEANING:The outside and inside of the flexible arm, the clamp and tubing with the exception of the switch plug can be disinfected with most products or mild detergents.

DISINFECTING:For disinfecting, one suggestion is, but not limited to, Clorox broad spectrum quaternary cleaner made byHealthlink, Inc. (www.healthlinkinc.net).

HOW TO CLEAN AND DISINFECT:Always hold, maintain, and keep the wall switch plug higher than the cleansing solution when you immerse the component into your disinfecting solution. After disinfection and while always keeping plug elevated, hang the arm and tubing allowing all cleansing fluids ro empty. Allow adequate time for the unit to dry before raising arm to level of plug tube assembly thus preventing liquid from leading back into the contact plug.

Caution
When disinfecting: do not allow any fluids to reach the plug that is inserted into the wall jack or possible malfunction or switch plug may result.**Note: Accessory package - Replace filters as needed.
